Our Camping Adventure - Day 1
The Johnson family were ready to go on a camping trip last Friday afternoon. They packed their car with tents, sleeping bags, and food. Mom, Dad, and their two kids, Emma and Jack, and I were excited for the adventure. I arrived with my things at their house by 4 PM and soon after we started our trip!
We drove to a beautiful campsite near a lake. The weather was still perfect, with clear skies and a gentle breeze. We set up our tents and made a cozy campfire. Jack and I were in our own tent right next to the big family tent, in which his parents and sister were sleeping.
On Saturday, the first day of our camping trip, Emma, Jack and I wanted to explore the forest. We found a trail and walked through the trees. There we saw birds, squirrels, and even a deer. We also collected colorful leaves and interesting looking rocks.
In the afternoon, Jack's parents had surprise for us - we went canoeing on the lake! We wore life jackets and paddled with our canoes. That was so cool! We saw fish swimming in the clear water. It was peaceful and fun.
As the sun began to set, we returned to our campsite and cooked dinner over the campfire. I really liked the food - we had hot dogs, roasted marshmallows, and juice. Jack's mother also told stories and we read out some jokes from my book.
After this first day, I felt very happy and relaxed.
